JDV: Back To Basics

Town defender Jason De Vos says Town need to go back to basics after Saturday’s defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.

De Vos: “The mistakes we made were indefensible. We are not going to win games if we play like this.

 

“Sheffield Wednesday scored one goal from our corner and the second with a free header from eight yards.

 

“Players are given assignments for set pieces and have got to learn to stick to them for 90 minutes.

 

“We cannot carry on like this and keep conceding cheap goals.

 

“We must go back to the basics, the fundamentals and stick to our jobs. Wednesday's goals were down to poor organisation on our part.

 

“No one likes to be dropped, but sometimes in football it happens.

 

“We had chances to kill the game off, but did not take them.”
