Coventry Grab Currie

Town midfielder Darren Currie is joining Coventry City on-loan until January with a view to a permanent move.

The 31-year-old midfielder has been less regular in the Town side this season then he was last season leaving his future at Town in doubt and it now appears he is on his way out because of the competition for places in midfield.

 

Town boss Jim Magilton: “Darren is joining Coventry on loan until January and then we'll see what develops from there.

 

“I have spoken to Darren throughout the season and I know that he wants to be playing regular first-team football.

 

“I can fully understand that and wasn't any different as a player myself but I told Darren that I couldn't guarantee him a place in the side.

 

“We've got players coming back from injury and Gary Roberts has come into the side and done well so I told him that I wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted to go out on loan.

 

“He goes to Coventry with our best wishes and we'll see how things develop from there.”
