Bates Back At Boro

Matt Bates will be returning to Middlesbrough after suffering a torn cruciate ligament and medial ligament damage against Barnsley.

Matt had scans on his knee earlier today which revealed the extent of the injury he suffered against Barnsley on Saturday.

 

Town’s head of sport science, Dave Williams: “Unfortunately we can confirm that Matthew has torn his cruciate ligament and partly torn his medial ligament, we have spoken to the Middlesbrough medical team and they are aware of the situation and Matt is travelling back to the club.”
