Town midfielder Owen Garvan says he is delighted to back playing for the Town first team again.

The 18-year-old missed the first four months of the season after suffering a case of post viral syndrome after a bout of shingles and finally made his return to action against Barnsley last week.

Owen: “I'm obviously delighted to be back playing again, although disappointed with the results we have had this week, I am back playing football quicker than many people expected me to, I'm definitely ahead of schedule and hopefully now I can get back to my best as soon as possible.

“There were doubts in my mind at some stages during my illness that I would get back. I thought I would play football again but I worried about to what standard and whether it would have a draining effect on me.

“But in training and the games I played I've felt okay. I felt as good as I did before the illness so I don't think it has had any lasting effects on me.”
