Wilnis Available For Loan

Town manager Jim Magilton says he will allow Dutch defender Fabian Wilnis to go out on-loan if a club comes in for him.

The 36-year-old has only made 10 appearances for Town this season and with the arrival of David Wright from Wigan later today that number looks unlikely to increase.

 

Town manager Jim Magilton: “Fab is an outstanding professional and he has earned the right to decide what he wants for himself.

 

“Although Fabian is not playing at the moment he continues to be an enormous influence around the dressing room and I don't really want to lose him about the place.

 

“But if he wanted to go elsewhere on loan I would not stand in his way. I would do whatever Fabian feels is right for Fabian.

 

“I know what it is like for him because I've been there myself. When I was at Sheffield Wednesday, before I joined Ipswich, I was in a similar situation.

 

“You can work as hard as you like on your fitness and be as dedicated as possible but you still feel a huge let-down when the squad is named and you're not in it.

 

“Also, you can train all the hours that God gives you but your job satisfaction is zero if you're not playing football. It can be hard to come to terms with it and I fully understand that.”
