Haynes Eyeing Goals

Town striker Danny Haynes is hoping he will be the striker that ends Town’s current dry spell in front of goal.

Town have scored just one goal in their last four games, that single goal being against Birmingham on New Years day, but Haynes is hoping to change that against Chester tomorrow night with a goal, Haynes himself hasn’t scored since he got two against Norwich in November.

Haynes: “How can I forget how magical it all felt that day, and I want some more.

“I want to prove to the manager that I am worth starting with.

“We improved in the second half on Saturday and if we carry on like that tomorrow I am sure we can reach the fourth round - and a home tie with League One Swansea.

“I am pushing as hard as I can for a regular place and working as hard as I can in training. Hopefully the hard work will pay off again tomorrow.

“We created chances at Sunderland, and things are coming together well in other departments.

“The rest will come and I want to be part of that. With the potential of three consecutive home matches we have a chance to put our goal drought behind us.”
