DS Eyeing CCFLC Reserves

Town chairman David Sheepshanks is hoping to arrange a reserve league for teams in the championship next season.

Town along with all teams not in the Premiership this season had their reserve teams thrown out of the FA Premier League reserve league before the start season leaving Town just two months to find a new league for the reserve side, which they did the “Pontin's Holidays Combination” League which hosts team like Stevenage and Oxford rather then Arsenal and Chelsea. So understandably Town are trying to form a coca-cola championship reserve league for next season.  

 

Sheepshanks: “We are still spitting blood after the Premier League kicked us out of their reserve league giving us just two months to find an alternative for this season, midlands clubs prefer to play ad hoc games against each other leaving teams in the north and the south - with larger distances to travel - in the lurch.

 

“We are trying to get over the difficulties and form a Championship reserve league for 2007/08.”
