Lee: It Was A Penalty

Town striker Alan Lee says the referee was right to award Town the penalty which put them into the 5th round of the FA Cup.

Town were awarded 64^th minute penalty when Swansea defender Tom Williams pulled on the shirt of Jaime Peters, Lee converted the penalty which was enough to give Town a 1-0 win and put them into the draw for the 5^th round of the FA Cup.

 

Lee: “I had a clear view of the incident and I definitely saw the player pull Jaime back, I don't know why the player did it because it wasn't certain that Jaime would score. Sometimes referees don't give them either but it was a penalty.

 

“The first goal was always going to be vital and I thing we just about deserved it.

 

“We were surprised that Swansea left Lee Trundle on the bench. They played five across midfield in what was perhaps a defensive move so it made it harder to break them down.

 

“But once we got the goal I thought we would go on and win the game and now it would be nice to have another 'winnable' match in the Fifth Round.”
