Gavin Hoping To Stay

Town midfielder Gavin Williams says he wants to stay at Town until at least the summer of 2009 when his current contract runs out.

Williams is currently out of action with a pelvis injury and he hopes to back soon.

 

Williams: “I have been told that I need another two injections, and these need to be five days apart, so this takes me well into next week

 

“Then it will be fingers crossed to see how quickly I can recover.

 

“I am at a stage when I have had enough of a stop/start season. So I don't plan to try to rush back and put myself in danger of breaking down.”

 

Despite the current short term injury Williams still sees his footballing future at Town, adding: “I see my future at Portman Road as being long term.

 

“I have a contract that runs for over two more seasons, and I expect to see this out.

 

“My relationship with the manager has never been a problem as far as I am concerned, and he was quite right to discipline me last month.

 

“I said before that I love playing for Ipswich. And this is still the case.”
