Shittu: Red Was Right

Watford defender Danny Shittu says Steve Bennett was right to send off George O’Callaghan on Saturday.

George was red carded by referee Steve Bennett for ‘stamping’ on Watford defender Danny Shittu, something George denies but Shittu says is right.

 

Shittu: “I won the header, we toppled over and he lashed out and kicked me in the back.

 

“I did not make a meal of it and was surprised when the referee showed a red card.

 

“But it was justified.”
