Jim: We Deserved More

Town manager Jim Magilton says Town deserved to get something from the game against Preston earlier tonight.

Jim: “We should have got something from the game and we're very disappointed we haven't.

 

“We dominated possession and there won't be many teams that go to Deepdale and do that.

 

“We gave them a free header at the start, that said it was a fantastic goal but we had enough of the ball after that without really making their 'keeper work.

 

“That has been the story of our season, the lack of a cutting edge and there lies the difference. I though Danny and Jon Walters were magnificent for us and worked their socks off but if we had that extra bit of quality that Franny Jeffers provided, I think things would have been different.

 

“We have got to keep believing though and if we play like we did tonight against Luton at the weekend, we won't go far wrong.

 

“Matty Richards and Dan Harding were both down for two minutes for injuries, we had three substitutions yet we only had three minutes of injury time.

 

“I politely asked the question why only three minutes and was sent to the stands for my troubles.”
