Report: Town 3-0 Plymouth

Town made easy work of a Plymouth side who played for 89 minutes with 10 men today after losing Mathias Doumbe in the first minute.

Doumbe was dismissed for a foul on Jon Walters after just a minute, the red card was shown as Doumbe denied Walters a goal scoring opportunity.

 

Town took just 9 minutes to open the scoring, Owen Garvan scored his first of the season when he curled the ball into the net from 18 yards.

 

Garvan was the provider for Town’s second, his pass was met by Alan Lee who scored his 16^th goal of the season.

 

Town didn’t score again until the 90^th minute when Danny Haynes, who had came on for Matt Richards, fired home from the right hand side of the box into the bottom left corner.

 

Plymouth could have created more with their possession early in the second half but just couldn’t find that touch and their chances of a goal seemed to disappear when Ian Miller made his Town debut with the 23-year-old proving to be a rock in the defence.
