PMS: Town 3–0 Plymouth

Sadie (Shady Blue Lady) is back giving us her own unique look at Town’s game against Plymouth yesterday.
League football returns from the international break and Town are back at home to face the Pilgrims. A slight breeze is hardly noticeable as a huge gust of wind overpowers it and my hair looks nothing like it did when I left the house.
The north stand have gone on tour south, well into the south stand, announced through a banner maybe trying to spread the noise and when the teams come out Price appears as if he is strolling along the beach.
Price, Wilnis, Bruce, De Vos, Wright, Roberts, Williams, Garvan, Richards, Lee and Walters are the starting 11 with Supple, Miller, Peters, Haynes and Clarke hiding on the bench.
One again we have to switch ends, grrrrr.
Town kick off, nothing unusual there until on 48 seconds unlucky 13 Mathias Doumbe stops Walters with force on his run at goal and being the last man sees red. I think I can sum up the feeling of the Tractor Boys in one word: Sweet!!
After that not much really happens until the 5th minute when Plymouth have their first real play on the ball, but no threat is seen before Price has the ball.
7 minutes into the game the tempo begins to speed up and with the play back with Plymouth Barry Hayles has a shot but Price makes sure it has no impact and sends the ball on for Town to run, which they do until Lee is caught offside.
A minute later Williams is showing his control in the midfield with a ball from Richards, Williams plays the ball on for Garvan inside the visitor’s box who has a clear strike past Pilgrim keeper McCormick, Town are a goal up, again I’m thinking Sweet.
Into the 9th minute of play and the game re-starts with the Pilgrims, Bruce lets his marked man get away and Plymouth win a corner, and another one, oh, and another one, Wilnis sends clear this 3rd attempt but Sinclair soon wins back in midfield.
The 12th minute saw a cry from the crowd when Garvan receives a slight knock and falls down, oh come on it could have just as easily been the wind going down like that, I mean look at my hair!!
13 minutes, there’s that number again, certainly an unlucky one for the Pilgrims as Town have a corner taken by Garvan, De Vos gets his head onto the incoming ball blasting it into… a defender who knocks the ball out, ha bet I had you fooled there ey, that’s when you thought we got our second goal didn’t you, anyway Town quickly regained possession just outside of the box Garvan gets the ball and sends it onto Lee nipping it past McCormick Town are 2 goals up at hope, well this new goal music is certainly getting its wear!
I just thought I’d mention a great move by Walters in the 17th minute, yeah from Ipswich to Lincoln, oops I mean a great move from Walters comes in the 17th minute, when in tight surroundings he gets clear by chipping the ball over one of the marking men then running round onto it, Walters then goes on to lose the ball, but that was a nice moment wasn’t it!
On 21 minutes a cross from Roberts falls short and a struggle comes about, I just can’t get that soft mint out of my pocket, oh fiddlesticks.
Town come close to 3 in the 22nd minute when Walters sends the ball flying over McCormick, suddenly the ball seems to be moving in slow motion giving Connolly just enough time to reach the ball just before it crosses the line.
27 minutes gone and Price is in on the action tapping the ball away but it lands for Sinclair who sends the ball sky high.
Lee makes a fantastic run from an onside position in the 29th minute but with no support from the Tractor Boys the effort from Lee finds no reward.
Onto 36 minutes Lee scores! But the flag was already up so there was no need for celebration.
In the 39th minute Richards sends a good ball in for Garvan who is defiantly having one of his better games today but Garvan’s header falls for McCormick.
Marcel Seip gives Town a corner in the 40th minute clearing the ball away from Walters, the corner is a good one from Richards but De Vos’ header was too soft and the chance is gone.
McCormick has the ball again in the 42nd minute after another Garvan focused attack leads the ball to Roberts, but the work is unrewarded.
1 minute time added on is announced over the tannoy by Mr Rob Chandler who sounds like he has a sore throat, and Town go in at half time 2 goals up with a clean sheet, and the Town fans are very happy with the first 45 performance.
There are no changes for the second half, both teams are still the same, today’s chosen satire is still causing me a less than comfortable seating and N****ch are still the worst team in East Anglia.
The match re-starts with the visitors and it’s not long before Ebanks-Blake is on the break before Connolly sends the ball onto Price.
Town have come out on the underside for this second half, or rather most of them haven’t come out at all as the Pilgrims show the Tractor Boys a taste of what is to come in the second half.
Play stays mainly with the Pilgrims for the first 5 minutes or so until a handball from Ebanks-Blake is spotted and the kick is taken by Town keeper Price.
In the 54th minute a free kick is given against Roberts on Halmosi before Seip is pulled by Walters giving the visitors another free kick, neither kick creates anything for the desperate Pilgrims.
Poor play from Bruce lets Ebanks-Blake run free, but the hands of Price keeps the score unchanged.
The first substitution is made on 62 minutes and it is for the home team with Haynes replacing Richards.
Haynes gets involved in the 65th minutes taking the ball from the feet of Sinclair and sends the ball up field but these tractors look to be running out of fuel.
Finally in the 66th minute Town have a shot a goal from Williams it falls wide, but at least it is in the right direction.
The visitors make their first change with a double substitution with Djordjic and Gallen replacing Sinclair and Buzsaky.
It says it all when we reach 70 minutes and so far I have sat with my legs crossed for the whole of the second half.
72 minutes I win funky sock competition and the attendance is 21 078.
Lee has an effort saved a minute later, nice to see you finally made it out of the changing rooms before Walters and Williams are replaced by Clarke and Miller, at which point I immediately worry for Millers safety, a strong gust of wind might snap him in half!
Another chance from Lee is denied on 76 minutes by McCormick before Price denies Plymouth once again.
On 78 minutes Hayles decides to strangle Miller down to the ground and the referee Mr Jon Moss immediately blows his whistle stopping the game giving the free kick to Plymouth and showing Miller the book, uh huh.
Town have 8 blue shirts in the defending box in the 81st minute but still can’t break the Pilgrims attack! Once Price has the ball he sends it up for Town but play is stopped when the flag is up showing offside against Lee, in the Town half! Urm yes and apparently we are all turnips.
Fallon replaces Ebanks-Blake and the U’s are beating N****ch 3-0, sweet.
De Vos is being, how shall I put it, silly again, but if I put in every time De Vos done something stupid this report would be 70 pages long.
Roberts moves in the 88th minute, I thought I’d add that as he is the only player in blue showing signs of existence until Miller gets in blocking Hayles from getting too close in the box.
Haynes goes for a run with the ball in the 89th minute wide on the right, still on the right Haynes sends the ball goal wards the ball hits the left post before hitting the back of the net, 3-0.
3 minutes are added to the end of the match during which Clarke pulls off miss of the season, which no words can describe and the Pilgrims leave doing the conga.
The 1st half was a walk over, the second half was quite the opposite, either Plymouth had a fantastic half time team talk of Town came out with next to nothing making the visitors play look classes above what they produced in the 1st 45.
Well I suppose I don’t really care, the Tractor boys went home with all 3 points.
