No Testimonial For Fab

Town defender Fabian Wilnis says he has not been awarded a testimonial as part of the new contract he has just signed with Town.

The 36-year-old defender has just signed a new one year contract with Town and it was reported over the weekend he had been awarded a testimonial as part of that deal but he says that is not the case.

Fabian: "I want to make it clear to everyone that I have not been given a testimonial.

"I have been away over the last week and came back to find a lot of messages on my phone asking about 'my testimonial', I did an interview with a Dutch magazine and they asked me about whether I would be awarded a testimonial and I said that I hadn't thought about it at all. Even after next season it would only be nine and a half years so it wasn't something that I had discussed with the Club.

"I was totally misquoted and have made that clear to the magazine. I also want to make it clear to the supporters. I have definitely not been granted a testimonial.

"I am thrilled to be at the Club for another year and I'm really looking forward to next season. I'm sure it's going to be an exciting one."
