Big Weekend For Jeffers

Town manager Jim Magilton knows that this weekend could be an important one to Town despite them not kicking a single ball.

On Monday Derby County play West Brom in the Championship Play-off final, if the Rams win the game which would see them promoted to the Premiership and then in the market for Town target Francis Jeffers and with the Premiership pot of gold they could afford the £1 million Blackburn want for the 26-year-old Jeffers.

Jim: "Blackburn want to wait until after the play-off final before making a decision on whose bid they want to accept.

"We have made an offer but it may be that we have to up that now. Whatever happens John Williams, the Rovers chairman, has promised that we will be kept informed.

"I have spoken to Francis again very recently and he assures me that he wants to come here. At the same time he knows there is interest elsewhere and he understandably wants to play in the Premiership. I would not want to stand in his way if that chance comes but we will just have to wait and see what happens."
