Town Start Against Owls

Town will start the 2007/2008 season with a home game against Sheffield Wednesday before facing MK Dons in the first round of the Carling Cup.

Town's first away game of the season is a long trip south to visit Plymouth argyle before Town face Crystal Palace to round August off.

The first East Anglian derby is against Colchester on the 23^rd of October at Portman Road less then 2 weeks later Town will travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich with the return legs being just a week apart on the 5^th April against Colchester and the 12^th of April against Norwich.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "We do owe them after last season, they nicked the points at our place when we felt we played okay. We just didn't take our chances.

"Brian Laws has done a terrific job there and they finished strongly last season. I expect them to be one of the promotion contenders this year so it will give us an early indication of where we are."

"Looking at the first month or so, it's a challenging start for us but we will be ready for it," added Jim.

"Being at home first game is always a positive though. It should be a good crowd and the supporters will be looking ahead to a new season full of expectation."
