Pulis Not After Gavin

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has denied he is currently interested in signing Town midfielder Gavin Williams.

Tabloid newspapers had reported Stoke were ready to pay £400,000 for the 26-year-old midfielder but Pulis says that is not true but he was keen on Williams while he was at Yeovil.

Pulis: "I quite fancied him when he was at Yeovil a season or two back, but it's just a case of needing a different kind of player right now.

"Gavin has good feet and will come inside and play in the gullies, but we need someone on the left who can get past people and whip crosses in, like Liam Lawrence does on the right."
