Aston Looks At: PAFC

Leggi is away this week so I'm filling in for him and doing his Looks At column, I'm looking at this weeks opposition Plymouth Argyle.

A little about the Pilgrims, they were formed in 1886 as Argyle FC and turned professional in 1903. No one is certain where the Argyle suffix came from but the clubs official line on the story is it came from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, an army football team who the founders of Plymouth Argyle wanted to emulate. Other stories on the name include the idea that the club was named after a tavern where the founders had met.

Last season Plymouth finished 11th in the championship, 5 points and 3 places ahead of Town. Ian Holloway is their manager and he has been in charge at home park since last June.

Town's biggest win against Argyle is 4-1, which happened back in 1965 with 1965 with goals from Cyril Lea, Danny Hegan, John Colrain and an own goal from John Newman. Town's heaviest defeat came just 5 months later, a 3-0 defeat at Home Park.

Player To Watch: Well only one name can fill this gap and that is David Norris, a player Town did try to sign during the summer but Plymouth rejected the offer. He joined Plymouth in 2002 from Bolton and has been a virtual ever present in their line up ever since.

I Predict: How on earth do you predict this one? We have seen two games so far and Town have scored 7 and conceded 3, 0-0 it is then.
