Cesar Deal Stalling

Town's bid to sign Spanish defender Cesar Navas has his a stumbling block as the player is holding out for better personal terms if he is to make the switch from Malaga to Town.

The 27-year-old was on trial at Town during the summer but had to return to Spain after breaking a metatarsal playing in one of Town's pre-season games.

Since his return to Spain Town and Malaga have been in talks with regards to Town buying the player of Malaga, who are now in administration and therefore keen to off-load Navas who is one of the clubs biggest earners and that's where the problem is, he is not willing to accept a three-year contract worth £5000 a week leaving the deal in limbo.

Town manager Jim Magilton is not known to be looking at other defenders but Town do have Chris Casement and Sito Castro in reserve if the Navas deal falls through.
