Fab: I’m Not Dirty

Town defender Fabian Wilnis says he is not a dirty player despite the red card he picked up for a two footed tackle against Plymouth last month.

Wilnis was shown a red card for a two footed tackle against the Pilgrims, the second time he has seen red at Home Park.

Wilnis: "It is frustrating for me to see so many people treating it as a big thing, I have played for Ipswich since 1999 and must have made hundreds of tackles.

"The huge majority have been fair ones, but there are occasions when your timing may be out.

"If this happens twice in a game you can be off.

"It was a horrible tackle.

"It looked much worse on DVD than I recalled it live. I went for the ball and I was desperate to make an impression in my first taste of Coca-Cola Championship football this season.

"I can not blame the referee for sending me off, but I was annoyed he appeared to be influenced by the reaction of the home players and crowd."
