Neil: I Expected Red

Town goalkeeper Neil Alexander says he feared getting a red card after giving away a penalty against Wolves on Saturday.

Alexander brought down Wolves striker Michael Kightly in the early stages of Town's 3-0 win against Wolves on Saturday and he has admitted he feared being sent off because of it.

Neil: "I had to go for the ball and I did touch the lad so I didn't have any complaints over the penalty, I did fear for a moment that I might get sent-off but I think their player would have struggled to keep the ball in play so that probably saved me.

"You always fear the worst as a goalkeeper when you bring someone down so maybe I've had a bit of luck with two penalties against me in a week but the save against Colchester gave the players and the supporters a lift and it was the same against Wolves.

"I'd made my mind up that I was going to go to my right when Eastwood ran up. He checked but I don't think he changed his mind and I was delighted to make the save.

"I haven't saved a penalty for two or three years and now I've done it twice in a week but I would be quite happy if I didn't face one for another two or three years.

"It was a terrific win for us and now we can look forward to a big match next week at Norwich. I didn't really play in a derby at Cardiff so I can't for this one."
