PMM: Town – Barnsley

Town manager Jim Magilton says the 0-0 draw with Barnsley at Portman Road earlier today was a fair result but he is disappointed Town's winning home run came to an end.

Magilton: "I wanted the run to continue so we are disappointed but credit to Barnsley, they put in a very professional performance.

"It was a fair result in the end. We had a lot of possession but didn't really create enough openings.

"We didn't match the tempo we have done in previous games and we didn't get the rub of the green either that we have had.

"It was another clean sheet, our fourth on the trot at home and that gives us something to build on, so we will take the positives and move on."

Jim also explained why Alan Lee was taken off after 30 minutes and why Owen Garvan didn't play, adding : "He (Lee) was suffering before the game with a bug but was desperate to play.

"We decided to see how he got on for a while but he was struggling and we had to change it. We probably missed him because they had two big lads at the back and Alan would have loved the physical battle with them.

"He's (Garvan) only a young lad and there is a lot of expectations on him and that can drag you down at times.

"His performances have dipped a bit lately, which is understandable, and sometimes a young player can benefit from dropping out and taking a look and seeing the pictures again.

"Owen knows we think the world of him and there's another big game on Tuesday night."
