Report: Town 1-1 Stoke
By Aston
January 12 2008
Town's dropped another 2 points today after being held 1-1 by Tony Pulis' Stoke City side at Portman Road this afternoon.
Town played magnificently for the first 20 minutes or so of the game and they were rewarded with a goal on 19 minutes after Danny Haynes left his man and slotted the ball under the ‘keeper and into the net after hitting the post.
Stoke started to force their way into the game after Town's goal and after 33 minutes they had gone level, one time Town loanee Ricardo Fuller firing home from inside the Town box.
The second half was a half full of chances but neither side seemed willing to take them and neither ‘keeper willing to let one in. Fuller should have had a second goal but he took too long to round Alexander, Town were denied by a number of good saves by Simonsen in the Stoke goal, Town also survived a number of defensive flaps in the final stages with players blocking Alexander's route to ball.
