Ricardo Fernandes On Trial

Town have taken 29-year-old APOEL Nicosia midfielder Ricardo Fernandes on trial from the Cypriot league champions.

The 29-year-old was part of the Porto side that won the UEFA Champions League under the management of Jose Mourinho in 2004, he made just 18 appearances for Porto scoring once before joining Académica de Coimbra, a season later he joined APOEL where he has found his feet, scoring 9 goals in his first season and setting up 30. In his second season he scored 13 as APOEL won the Cypriot league for the 19th time.

It is widely reported he now wants to play at a higher level again and possibly in England. He will be with Town until Wednesday when he is expected to return to Cyprus.

Elsewhere Town are being linked with a move for Liverpool youngster Jack Hobbs.
