STB message boarder Leggi is back giving us an insight into Town’s opposition on Saturday it’s Blackpool at Bloomfield Road in The Championship.
BLACKPOOL
Saturday 19th January, Bloomfield Road, Kick-off 15:00
Blackpool were formed in 1887 and play their Home games at the 9,612 capacity Bloomfield Road stadium.
Their Greatest honour was winning the 1953 FA Cup Final, the so called 'Matthews' final in which they beat Bolton 4-3, after coming back from a 3-1 deficit.
They have won the Anglo-Italian Cup in 1971 and the Football League Trophy twice, in 2002 and 2004.
In the league they have finished Champions of the 'old' Division 2, in 1930 and have been victorious in 3 Play-Off Finals, one of which was last season under the management of Simon Grayson.
This season, although Grayson's side have only lost 3 home games they sit in 16th position, just 6 points from the drop zone and 7 points behind 7th placed Town. The Seasiders are in not bad form at the moment as the form guide below shows.

OUR LEAGUE RECORD AWAY AT BLACKPOOL
Played: 5
Won: 1
Drawn: 3
Lost: 1
Goals:
For: 5
Against: 8
Only one win from each team at Bloomfield Road since we first met in 1961. Ipswich's' win is 2-0 achieved in 1970 and Blackpool's' win is by 1 goal to nil in 1962.
The Highest attendance is 23,305 in that game in 1962 mentioned above, and the lowest gate is 13,048 also mentioned in the 1970 game above, (although this record will be beaten on Saturday).
MATCH FACT This is the first League meeting of the 2 clubs for 38 years.
Our leading all-time scorers Against Blackpool are, Gerard Baker and Ray Crawford with 3 goals, Ted Phillips got 2.
9 Players have worn the colours of both clubs they include, Tony Dinning, David Linighan, Frank Yallop, and Ian Marshall.
Leggi's Player to fear is (if we haven't signed him) Wes Hoolahan, the 25 year old, Rep of Ireland, left sided midfielder. Wes Joined Blackpool on a season long loan in July 2006 from Scottish club Livingston and helped Blackpool gain Promotion last season, scoring 8 times in 42 games. He signed 'proper' for 'The Tangerines' in June last year and so far has netted 5 times this campaign.
Leggi Predicts: Another tricky away day in, what will be a, Freezing, windy, Blackpool. Can't see it being an attractive game to watch. Our team boasts far more talent than theirs, it's if we turn up and perform, which we haven't done away from Portman Road all season, that matters. Haynes is playing well at the moment so I'd keep him in, drop Miller (off a cliff) he's useless, and give the old spring chicken Legwinski a game. I reckon, if we turn up, a 3-0 first away win of the season for The Tractorboys.

We can not drop points to anyone for a few weeks at least.
