Town have signed Sheffield United midfielder Alan Quinn on an emergency loan, although not in time for him to play against Blackpool tomorrow.
The 28-year-old is contracted with the blades until 2010 after signing a contract extension in the summer, he has made more then 100 appearances for Sheffield United and more then 150 for Sheffield Wednesday and is the only player to score for both sides in a Sheffield derby.
He has been capped 8 times by the Republic of Ireland and Jim is happy to have got him.
Jim: "We had to move fast when I heard Alan might be available and we are delighted to have him at the Club, he will meet up with the players before the Blackpool game but won't be involved and will then start working with us from next week.
"I've known Alan since he was a lad and he will come in and freshen things up for us and I'm delighted he is with us."

Does anyone know where he plays in Midfield? Would be interesting to see if he could slot in on the left hand side and actually do a job there.
He met up with his new team-mates in the Town hotel in Blackpool prior to today's game, and he was eligible to play. But he is expected to make his debut in the home game against Plymouth on Tuesday week.
Manager Jim Magilton felt that time was not on the side for Quinn to play a part today.
Ipswich have agreed a fee with Sheffield United and are hoping to complete a full transfer next week. Terms have still to be discussed with the player.
After being a regular at Bramall Lane, Quinn has not featured regularly since Bryan Robson took over as the Blades boss.
and sorry MKTB, not sure which side he plays on
