Report: Blackpool 1-1 Town
By Aston
January 19 2008
Town's search for a win away from Portman Road goes on, although they did manage to get a point against Blackpool despite being down to 10 men.
Before today's game Blackpool were looking for their third win in a row at Bloomfield Road and they were on the way to a win in the 39th minute when Claus Jorgensen tapped home after Stephen McPhee had rounded Neil Alexander.
Town were reduced to 10 men on 63 minutes when Sito was shown a straight red card for a tackle on Wes Hoolahan. Moments later McPhee could have won the game for the home side but instead managed to head wide.
Jon Walters levelled the scores on 65 minutes when he powered home a Gary Roberts corner. Town held on for the point and remain 7th in the Championship.

Did you go to the game? What did you make of it?
But we have got to win away soon, we can't depend on other teams!
Ipswich Town - the pride of anglia
My man of the match was Gary Roberts, who worked had all game until he was taken off late in the second half. Excellent turnout from the Town supporters, it seemed we had taken over Blackpool for the weekend, and if we had played a tad better we could have walked this game easily, Blame Jim Magilton for his negative away tactics in only playing the idle Counago up front on his own!!!
Heres my marks(out of 10)
Alexander 5 (nothing to do really, one good save)
Sito 3 (a few runs down the wing but was caught out of position in the lead up to their goal)
Bruce 3(the new David Linighan, hoof hoof hoof, to nobody!!)
De Vos 3( captain useless, his reading of the game is awful and his way out of his depth in the championship)
Wright 4(caught out of position too many times, but was still the best out of the four backline)
Walters 6 (good goal, but apart from that, just the usual from the impressive guy, if only he had the talent around him to match)
Legwinski 3 (who??)
Garvan 3 (looked knackered after 30 mins, wayward passing, scared to challenge, rubbish away from PR)
Haynes 3 (did'nt get into thhe game at all)
Roberts 7 (ran all game, maybe trying too hard to score somtimes, but worked his socks off.well done!!)
Counago 2 (fell over alot, barged into the keeper when he knew things were'nt going his way, think he'd been on the San Miguel in Blackpool the night before---5hite)
Sub
Naylor (made us look alot more solid when he came on and made some excellent challenges, which surprised a certain scouser standing next to me)
Lee (brought on too late to make an impact, poor management from Jimbo)
Miller (he might have touched the ball once, I can't remember, get rid!!)
A word about the Blackpool fans, very noisy and the excellent chant of SEA-SIDE, SEA-SIDE, made the Town fans chuckle.
Next up for me Sheff Wed in a couple of weeks.
