Norris Bid Rejected

It's been reported that Plymouth have rejected Town's offer for midfielder David Norris, but Town manager Jim Magilton is still keen on signing him.

The latest offer is believed to be around £1.75 million, which is still short of the £2 million Plymouth are believed to be holding out for so they have told Town the 26-year-old is not for sale. Despite this latest set back, Jim says the deal is not dead.

Jim: "He (Norris) is definitely someone that we want to the football club, it still could happen for us. He will bring the same sort of character as Alan that will turn us into a very good side.

"I sympathise with Plymouth and their fans because they don't want to lose a good player. He is very much part of their set-up and I would do exactly the same if a similar situation arose here.

"But at the end of the day I think he is going to make us better. We have put in a very good offer but they are still holding out and we will just have to tempt them again."
