Fee Agreed For Player

It was announced at Ipswich Town Football Club PLC's AGM earlier this evening that Town had agreed a few with a club for an unnamed player and that two other bids were outstanding.
Although Jim Magilton didn't name the player nor he deny it was Plymouth midfielder David Norris, who has been left out of the Plymouth squad to play at Portman Road tomorrow evening and is a known of Town.
Although Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock says it was because Norris felt he should not be involved, saying "After discussions with the player we have come to the decision that he should not be involved.
"Disappointingly, there has been a lot of media coverage from a team that is interested in David.
"He would not be mentally attuned to the tussle and it would not be fair of me to allow people to put the microscope on him. Every bad pass or tackle he made would be highlighted.
"It is a decision I don't take lightly because I don't want to not have my best player but it is the wrong game to come so close to the end of the window.
"I have got to think what is best for the football club. This one is just too big and the media coverage has flared up."
Gareth McAuley is another possibly signing, with Town reported to have bid £800,000 for the Leicester defender, but Jim did not name any of the targets or where on the pitch they play, simply saying he will play "anywhere I can get him".
