Jim Makes Nugent Enquiry

Town manager Jim Magilton has confirmed he has made enquires to Portsmouth about bringing striker David Nugent on-loan to Portman Road.

Nugent is still down the pecking order at Fratton Park and is restricted to cup outings, including the one against Town in January, where his first goal for Portsmouth decided the game.

Jim: "Nugent is a possibility. We have asked Portsmouth about taking him on loan and they have not ruled it out.

"It is a big decision for Portsmouth and it is a big decision for the lad but that has not stopped us making an enquiry.

"We are well aware if he did come he is not 100 per cent but he is making massive strides to get fit so we will wait and see what happens.

"He loves Portman Road and he loves scoring goals here so it would be good to have him in a Blues shirt."

Just been on sky sports news that Pompey have told Nugent he is free to join Ipswich, so its just up to the player now, this could be the player that gives us that little bit more in our promotion bid.
Good times ahead I think!!!

nugent has an all round ability for a centre forward, strength, pace, skill. as ipswich has found out to its cost against preston and portsmouth, for me he's in the same sort of mould as the great paul mariner, and he came from a south coast side as well
