Town Legend Sir Bobby Robson is delighted that a fund designed to raise £500,000 to fund a cancer research and treatment clinic has raised nearly £15,000 in just one week.

The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation was launched last Tuesday night and at the time of going to press the fund has raised £14,822.17 and Sir Bobby is delighted with the support shown so far.

Writing on his Just Giving page, Sir Bobby said: "It is unbelievable and I appreciate it very much indeed."
