Town midfielder Owen Garvan has been offered a two year contract extension by Town, which if he signs it would keep him at Portman Road until the summer of 2011.
The 20-year-old midfielder got his first senior call to the Irish national side earlier this week for a training camp in the Algarve. He has been linked with a summer move to a couple of Premiership clubs but the new deal should keep him at Portman Road a little while longer.
Town manager Jim Magilton: "Owen has a bright future and we want that to be at Ipswich Town, he has progressed at the Club and we want him to continue to move forward here.
"I've sat down with him and had a chat and the two year contract extension is on the table for him. He knows we want him to stay here and become part of what we are trying to build at this Football Club and he can have an important part to play in that."
