Preview: Wolves – Town

Town face one of their biggest tests of the season when they travel to Molineux to take on Mick McCarthy's Wolves side in a potential play-off six pointer.

A win for either team would see them take a step towards a top 6 finish, a defeat could leave them looking at another season in the championship.

Town will have to try and take that step forward without Shefki Kuqi who injured his hamstring against Norwich last week, David Norris who is still carrying an ankle injury, Velice Sumulikoski is out with a torn artery and Richard Naylor is recovering from neck surgery.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "It's a big game for us at Wolves because it's the next game, that's the main reason, nothing will be decided this weekend. We will have a clearer picture after the match of what's got to happen obviously and we know that if we win at Wolves, it will put some daylight between them and us.

"The Play-Offs will go to the wire and we need to make sure we are involved going into the last game of the season but the most important thing is that we are on our game on Saturday.

"We need to recreate the same desire to get a result, the same intensity of play that we showed against Norwich last week. We need the same level of performance.

"Wolves are a very good side and if we are not very good on the day, then we will get nothing from the game.

"We had them watched against West Brom on Tuesday and they were unlucky not to get something from the match. I have the utmost respect for their manager Mick McCarthy and he will have his players fired up.

"Their crowd will be right behind them and it's important that we stand up to the pressure they will look to put on us over the first 20 minutes.

"But we are going there on the back of a good performance and the confidence that brings. We are going there with the belief that we can win the game."

Wolves will be able to welcome back Michael Kightly, Stephen Ward could also come back buy Karl Henry is out.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy: "I was immensely proud of our performance against West Brom. They took their chance and that proved to be the difference, but it was a terrific football match with both sides going for it. The game could have ended 4-4 instead of 1-0.

"It can't hurt me as much as the fans, but if we win the next four (matches) and get into the play-offs, then no one will care.

"I can't do anything about the West Brom defeat. It's done, gone and finished, and we have to move on.

But if we play like that, we've got more chance of winning. The games that are coming up are the important ones, not the West Brom game.

"We're not going to catch the top two teams anyway, so we have to get in the play-offs.

"We will go into the game against Ipswich buoyant, because of the way we have played recently. A top six finish if definitely on the cards,"
