Former Town defender Kevin Beattie is to finally get a UEFA Cup Winners medal, 27 years after Town won the cup.

The former blues defender, now aged 54, played in 8 of Town's games in the UEFA Cup in 1980/81 but missed the final after breaking his arm in the FA Cup Semi final against Manchester City, but at this years final at the City of Manchester stadium Beattie will finally be presented with a winners medal.

Beattie: "A campaign was started to get me a medal, and the fact that Michel Platini wants to hand it over himself makes it even more special."

Liverpool's Champions league form has been outstanding over the last few years and all that after a recent exciting UEFA cup win as well. That was a cracking game last night too.
