Peters Gets Goal

Town midfielder Jaime Peters scored his first international goal last night when his Canada side drew 2-2 with Panama.

The 21-year-old was making his 15th appearance for his country when he was introduced as a substitute early on in the friendly in Fort Lauderdale.

Peters is away with Canada for a couple more weeks as they try to qualify for the 2010 World Cup, something which does concern Town manager Jim Magilton as he feels Peters needs a summer break but the midfielder is confident he'll be ready for next season at Town.

Peters: "The backroom team at Ipswich are excellent and I'm sure they will make sure I'm in good condition for the start of the season, it's about getting the right rest and then building up the fitness levels. I'm sure I will be fine."
