Town manager Jim Magilton says there could be more signings at Portman Road if the right players become available.

Town have already signed Pim Balkestein and Gareth McAuley and are being linked with others and if the players Town manager Jim Magilton wants become available he will try to sign them.

Jim: "If the players we want become available then we would be interested.

"What we really want to do is make sure that the spine of our team is strong. Gareth and Pim have both come in and we have Alex Bruce, Richard Naylor and young Tommy Smith so we have competition for places but that certainly doesn't mean we have stopped looking. We are always on the look out for good players."

One of those players won't be Burnley striker Kyle Lafferty as he is on the verge of a move to Glasgow Rangers despite Town's interest.

Burnley chairman Barry Kilby "We received three cash-plus-player offers from other clubs - Ipswich came in late - but all considerably below the Rangers one.

"We have received a good price when you are buying potential rather than the finished article."
