Angelos Staying In Germany

Nuremberg striker Angelos Charisteas says he will be staying at the German side next season to help them return to the German top flight.

The 28-year-old has had talks with Town but he says he wants to stay with Nuremberg to help them return to the Bundesliga after they were relegated last season.

Charisteas: "I'll be back on Monday and will remain at the club.

"My thoughts are 100 per cent with the club. Other clubs are interested in me, but it is a beautiful thing to help Nuremberg rise again."

Meanwhile Town manager Jim Magilton has stressed he wants to sign the Greek striker, saying: "We want to know if he is interested and if he is fantastic, we will sit and have a chat, if not we move on to other targets.

"If we can sit round the table and entice him to join to us then great because he is the sort of quality player that can help us."
