Town After Nugent Again?

Town are reportedly keen on again trying to sign Portsmouth striker David Nugent, despite him snubbing the club back in January.

The 23-year-old striker has flopped in the premiership but still seems unwilling to drop back down the Championship where he made his name scoring for fun while at Preston.

Town did try to land the striker on-loan in January but Nugent never returned the clubs phone calls and Jim Magilton looked elsewhere for a striker. A deal currently looks a long way off but for any move to be at all likely Town would need to offer something close to the £20,000 a week he earns not playing for Portsmouth.

Should Town be trying to sign Nugent again? Leave your view below.

Why is he greedy?

I don't understand that comment?

He turned us down in Jan because he wanted to try and get in the Portsmouth first team.

And claim his 60 grand a week for keeping his ar5e warm on the bench, when he could have been getting first team action for us.
He won't get a look in this season, and it serves him right!!

I'm with the majority here. He didn't want to know so that's that. Leave him there and look elsewhere. There are strikers all over the shop. I'd rather spend time and money pursuing other avenues than throw myself at a guy who'll take the money and not play at Portsmouth.

mathie ferguson, sounds like you are abit of a glory hunter, remember 1 player doe'snt make a team, we've had a few so-called hot-shot players, if nugent does'nt want to come let him go, there are a few strikers out there that may fit the bill better

well apparently counago only plays for 15 mins! lee is to slow! and haynes has been used as a bit player then we have lisbie a one season wonder so far to his goal scoring record! and one man doesn't make a team well you have to look at teams like arsenal got rid of henry took a dive ! dont play fabregas look ordinary! same at united no ronaldo look ordinary! someone who can be a real threat makes a team tick

with arsenal they did'nt replace henry quick enough, i agree about ronaldo but look at the effect scholes had when he came from injury, man utd won the premiership and in europe, that takes a team not just 1 player

C'mon, Lee is slow (good in the air but hey, that's not the point here)! I think the jury's out a little on Nugent and tbh, I'd be reluctant to sign him up, on strong wages, just to find out.
