Town striker Pablo Counago and midfielder Owen Garvan have both signed new contracts that will keep them at the club until the summer of 2011.
Both Counago and Garvan had just a year left to run on their current deals and there had been reports that Garvan would be sold if a new deal couldn't be reached but the deal has been reached and Town manager Jim Magilton is delighted to have the pair signed up to new deals.
Jim: "It's fantastic news for this Football Club in what is a very big season for us, both Pablo and Owen are very important players for us and it's a sign of the confidence they have in Ipswich Town that they have committed their future here for another three years.
"They are ambitious players and want to the playing in the Premier League and they have a part to play in helping us get there.
"Signing Owen and Pablo on long term deals is also a sign of the ambitions we have here. We are no longer in a position where we have to sell our best players.
"We have an ambitious owner who wants to see this Club back in the Premier League and signing Owen and Pablo on three year contracts is another step in that direction."
