Ameobi Fails Medical

Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi will not be moving to Portman Road just yet after he failed Town's medicial earlier today.

The 26-year-old picked up a hamstring injury during Newcastle's pre-season and the injury has not yet fully healed leaving Town with no choice other then to put the move on hold.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "It's disappointing but you have to be careful with hamstring injuries and we don't want a repeat of last season when Shefki Kuqi joined us and suffered a hamstring injury in his first game,"
