Stead In On-Loan

Town have signed Sheffield United striker Jon Stead on-loan until January with a fee already agreed between the two clubs should the move become permanent.

The 25-year striker started his career at Huddersfield Town where he came to prominence after scoring 22 goals in 68 league games for the Terriers, he joined Blackburn in 2004 for £1.25 million he scored just 8 goals in his time at Blackburn before he joined Sunderland for £1.8 million his time at the Stadium of light was perhaps his worst in football scoring twice in 40 appearances he had a brief loan spell at Derby before joining Sheffield United in January 2007, so far for the Blades he has 11 goals.

Younger and surely quicker than Lee, a fair substitution in my book.

another desperate signing, we need to see a settle side, bloody crazy another player, should buy another centre back and get rid of mcauley

I agree it's time to settle it now and gel but Lee was (and still is) a big lump with size twelve concrete boots. He should be sponsored by Blue circle.

I'm not fully convinced he'll score as many as Lee did though
