Jim: Stay Patient

Town manager Jim Magilton is urging fans to remain patient as he and his team need time to get the results on the pitch right.

Jim has been criticised by some fans for changing his team too much after winning games, but Jim says there is a good reason for that.

Jim: "I not a patient man so I understand the frustrations of the fans, it will take time to achieve what we want and we need to be patient.

"Players need time to settle into a new environment, a new style of play and with new team-mates around them. Nothing happens overnight in football.

"Players that have been here for a while have taken us a long way in a very short space of time.

"But to take that next step up, we felt that we needed extra quality in.

"And we have done that in bringing in the players we have.

"We are building a new team if you like, something that the owner has made possible.

"A team that I believe can take us on to the next level and where we want to be.

"Patience is not something you get in football it seems these days, but it is something we need right now.

"Expectation levels are there and we have to deal with that.

"With players coming in, we are in a position where we are moving some out, some will go on loan and some on permanent deals, but we will have a squad where players will get games.

"It will be a horses-for-courses policy."

I wouldn't say he's been messing around but he's gone in like a kid in a sweet shop by grabbing too much too soon. Consequently we have gone slightly backwards which as he says is to be expected, but it is self inflicted. Strange.
