STB Message boarder Leggi is back once again giving us an insight into Town’s opponents, on Saturday it’s Reading who make the trip to Portman Road.
Reading make the 130 mile trip from Berkshire on Saturday, to Portman Road on the back of a pretty decent start, having lost just 1 game of their opening 6 matches in League and Cup.
Steve Coppell's side were relegated from The Premiership on goal difference last season, they opened the 2008/09 season with a 0-0 draw at newly promoted Nottingham Forest's City Ground. Followed by a 2-0 win at Plymouth's Home Park followed, then their only defeat thus far losing 4-2 at Charlton, The Royals made amends the following week by beating Crystal Palace by the same scoreline at The Madejski Stadium. Reading currently sit 6th in The Championship, 11 places and 4 points ahead of Ipswich.
The Royals have progressed to the 3rd round of The Carling Cup, by beating Dagenham & Redbridge, 2-1, and Luton Town, 5-1. They now face a difficult 3rd round tie at Stoke City's windswept Britannia Stadium.
Kevin Doyle is the Reading player to watch out for, the former Cork City striker has 3 League goals to his name this season and added an International goal on Saturday in the Republic of Ireland's 2-1 win in Georgia. Defender Ibrahima Sonko also has 3 League goals this season and talented Midfielder Stephen Hunt has netted twice.
Steve Coppell's men ooze talent and have goals throughout their team, it should certainly make for an entertaining encounter at Portman Road on this weekend.

Leggi Predicts: After another no show, dire, performance at Watford 2 weeks ago, its time we got our first win at Portman Road, Jim will no doubt change the team for Reading's visit, (he'll probably change it again even if we win) and the Town faithful will demand a better display than the previous 2 League games at Home. Sadly though, I feel it will not come this weekend, Its worrying times to be a Town fan at the moment, I'll predict a 3-1 defeat. The ex-Premiership team having much more talent than we do.
