Burnley midfielder Alan Mahon is the latest player to be linked with a move to Portman Road after falling out of favour at Turfmoor.
The 30-year-old Irish midfielder has only made three substitute appearances for the Clarets so far this season and with just under a year on his contract Burnley could be willing to accept a token fee.
Mahon spent three months on-loan at Town in 2003 from Blackburn Rovers, making 9 appearances, Town wanted to make the move permanent but Rovers' wanted £750,000 which was well outside of Town's budget. In 2004 he joined Wigan where he spent just over 2 years before joining Burnley for £100,000 in 2006.
Was good for us, when on loan, but that was 6 years ago!!! He's too old now, and has done nothing since he left us. If Jim is looking to build a squad for the future, he needs to be looking at the other end of the age bracket, what with, Naylor, Miller, Campo and Stead we already have too many 'oldish' players.
