Town Eyeing Walters Deal

Town manager Jim Magilton has revealed that Town are in talks with Jon Walters about the possibility of extending his Town contract beyond 2011.

Walters was the subject of a number of rumours during the summer linking him with moves away from Portman Road, with Wigan Athletic seeming the likely destination but in order to stop reports like that again in January Town are moving to tie him into a longer deal.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "Jonathan has been a big success since I brought him to the club and always gives 100 per cent and is always good value for money.

"He is the type of player I want here on a long-term basis and hopefully these discussions can bear fruit and that we can agree for him to be under contract longer than 2011."
