Walters Signs Extension

Town winger Jon Walters has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Portman Road until the summer of 2012.

Walters was linked with a number of Premiership clubs during the transfer window, but the new deal should squash any remaining rumours surrounding him.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "We're delighted that Jon has agreed to new contract.

"There was a lot of speculation about his future during the summer but we made it clear that we wanted him at this Football Club.

"There were Premier League clubs showing an interest in him but we have always seen him as an important part of what we are building here."

He's gotta have plenty of interest flying his way so he's obviously keeping his options open. We progess and he'll stay some more.
