Jim Praises Forwards

Town manager Jim Magilton has praised Town’s strikers for their part in the 3-0 win against Chesterfield at Portman Road earlier today.

Jon Walters, Pablo Counago and Jon Stead each got a goal as Town booked their place in the fourth round of the worlds oldest cup competition earlier this afternoon.

Magilton: "It was a scruffy, scrappy win at times. For 30 minutes Chesterfield were excellent and put us on the back foot.

"We lacked a bit of composure and quality in the first half and were not firing on all cylinders.

"We got out the blocks quicker in the second half and the difference between the two sides was that we were better in front of goal.

"We controlled things better in the second half although Chesterfield still had chances and Richard Wright was outstanding for us again.

"I would like to save a Premier League team until the final and I will settle for anyone at home."

I thought it was a dull typical Ipswich display today again, Micky Stockwell made a good point on the radio, saying we have no partnerships in our team and that is the problem we've had all season. Until that Cnut Jim can pick a settled side we're gonna be up and down all the time,(inconsistant). I used to enjoy listening to every game but found it really irritating this season, don't know wether its because its SGR and not Radio Suffolk, or the Norman Collier style of commentery supplied by Ipswich 5hitty world!!!
(Norman Collier for you young uns- you tube him!!)
