Town Closing On Civelli

Town manager Jim Magilton is hopeful that Argentine midfielder Luciano Civelli will be at Portman Road early next week.

The 22-year-old left sided midfielder was spotted playing for Club Atletico Banfield by Town's scout during a trip to South America.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "I think we are at an advanced stage now and we are very optimistic that a deal can be done.

"We're hopeful that he will be over at the start of the next week and then we will take it from there.

"We have other irons in the fire but there certainly won't be wholesale additions to the squad. I'm very happy with the players we have here.

"It's our aim to get a few out on loan though. Jordan Rhodes and Jaime Peters will be getting first team experience at Brentford and Gillingham and we are trying to get a few more out as well. It's important that players are playing games."
