Trotter Has Town Future

Town manager Jim Magilton says Liam Trotter still has a future at Town, despite being allowed to train with Scunthorpe this week.

Trotter has just returned to Portman Road following a three month stay at Grimsby in League Two, now he has been allowed to train with Scunthorpe for a few days but Magilton says the midfielder still has a future at Portman Road.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "Scunthorpe asked us if Liam would go up there for a few days, I was happy for him to stay with us but the lad was keen to go up there for a few days and we didn't want to stand in his way.

"He enjoyed his time at Grimsby and was playing games every week and that is what he needs so if another loan opportunity comes up for him, we would look at it.

"He is out of contract in the summer but that doesn't mean he hasn't got a future at this Football Club. He's still very much an Ipswich Town player."
