Jim: We Started Slowly

Town manager Jim Magilton says his Town side started slowly against Blackpool yesterday and again paid the price for a lack of cutting edge.

Jim: "We made a slow start to the game, for some reason and didn't come alive until they scored, the crowd were great and got right behind us and we scored a terrific goal, a really well worked goal but we didn't create enough after that in the final third.

"The front two worked really hard but didn't have a clear cut chance. Pablo's header might have gone in on another day and perhaps he should have scored but there was a nervousness about our play again around their box.

"I see quality from my players every day in training but we need to see where it matters, on the pitch. It's very frustrating.

"Luca did well on his debut and gave us some width and if he had put away the chance he had after good play, then it would have given the whole place a lift but he can be proud of his display.

"It's a massive game for us now on Wednesday night and we have to lift the players and get the win that we desperately need."
